Aim of tutorial: Using gradient to make the icy feeling


Hey ppl! YAY! Another icon tutorial made by me specially for you! ^^ lol. Ok, i shant crap that much and go straight to the point. Firstly, open up a file that you would like to use for this tutorial. For example this...


First of all, new layer> image> apply image. After that change it to soft light. Then, new layer> image> apply image.

Layer> new adjustment layer> colour balance Play with it around until you think it looks fine. Example below



Again, new layer> image> apply image. Go to your colour picker tool and choose a cyan colour. #78F1FF- thats what I'm using. After that, go to the little black and white circle below the layers section. Then, click gradient



This pop up box will appear. Click ok.



After that, go to the scroll box and click overlay. See the bits of difference?



Then, new layer> image> apply image. Go to your colour picker tool and choose a dark blue colour. #3F36FD. Same thing, go to the little black and white circle below the layers section. Then, click gradient. The box will appear again and click ok. This is what happen then.



Go to the overlay scroll box again and your done! The person looks chilly now. After that, resize it or add some words then make it into an icon.
